शब्दवेध्य-अनर्थः, ऋषिशापः, दशरथस्य प्राणत्यागः

तदज्ञानान्महत्पापं कृत्वाहं सङ्कुलेन्द्रियः।एकस्त्वचिन्तयं बुध्या कथं नु सुकृतं भवेत्।।।।
tad ajñānān mahat pāpaṃ kṛtvāhaṃ saṅkulendriyaḥ |
ekas tv acintayaṃ buddhyā kathaṃ nu sukṛtaṃ bhavet ||
அந்த அறியாமையால் பெரும் பாவம் செய்த நான், இந்திரியங்கள் கலங்கித் திகைத்தேன்; தனியாக மனத்தில் சிந்தித்தேன்—‘இப்போது ஏதாவது நற்கிரியை, பிராயச்சித்தம் எவ்வாறு நிகழும்?’
