Sumitra’s Consolation to Kausalya
शिवस्सर्वेषु कालेषु काननेभ्यो विनिस्सृतः।राघवं युक्तशीतोष्णस्सेविष्यति सुखोऽनिलः।।।।
śivaḥ sarveṣu kāleṣu kānanebhyo vinisṣṛtaḥ |
rāghavaṃ yuktaśītoṣṇaḥ seviṣyati sukho 'nilaḥ ||
எல்லா காலங்களிலும் காடுகளிலிருந்து வெளிவரும் நன்மை தரும் தென்றல், குளிரும் வெப்பமும் சமமாய் அமைந்து, இன்பமாக ராகவனைச் சேவிக்கும்.
A pleasant yet moderately hot and cold breeze blowing through the woodlands will serve Rama at all seasons.
The verse suggests that steadfast dharma invites harmony: the world becomes supportive to one who lives righteously.
The speaker continues a consoling description of Rāma’s forest life, portraying the forest as hospitable rather than hostile.
Rāma’s worthiness and moral stature—so great that even natural forces are depicted as serving him.
