वीन्द्र यासि दिव्यानि रोचना वि पार्थिवानि रजसा पुरुष्टुत । ये त्वा वहन्ति मुहुरध्वराँ उप ते सु वन्वन्तु वग्वनाँ अराधसः ॥
vī́ndra yāsi divyā́ni rocanā́ ví pārthivā́ni rájasā puru-stuta | yé tvā váhanti múhur adhvarā́n úpa té sú vanvantu vagvanā́m arā́dhasaḥ ||
Indra moves through the luminous heavenly realms and through earthly spaces by his radiant power. Those who repeatedly bring offerings to him should win the attainments of the inspired singers without failure.
Illumination is not confined to ‘heaven’ (higher mind) but traverses all ranges—divine rocanā and the earthly rajas—linking spirit and life. The repeated bearing of adhvara (the journeying sacrifice) is persistent practice; its fruit is the ‘vagvanām arādhasaḥ’—the effective realizations of inspired speech and true formation, not missing the mark.
When the light-force is allowed to move through all levels of our being, steady practice becomes an unfailing means of attainment; inspiration turns into accomplished power.
Indra’s cosmic movement, Ritual as ascent/attainment, Victory and success, Inspired speech community (vagvan)
Represents a late-Vedic integrative vision: Indra’s movement across worlds mirrors yoga’s demand that higher light descend into embodied life.
Mediator and conqueror across worlds; establishes passages between luminous heaven and earthly field.
Dynamic intelligence that can operate in both contemplation (divyā rocanā) and execution (pārthivāni rajas).
Indra praise in Soma contexts; general stuti for successful offering

4 × ~12; running cadence with strong mid-pāda lift (vi … vi …)
Traversing, wave-like; the repeated ‘vi’ gives a sense of widening movement.
Encourages the feeling of expansion across inner ‘worlds’ and the confidence of steady repetition.
Soma-yajña: Indra invoked across worlds; patrons/priests seek successful attainment (rādhas) through repeated offerings (adhvara)
When invoking Indra’s pervasion and seeking success (siddhi) of the rite
Stotra praising Indra’s roaming power; reinforcement of offering-bearers (priests)
Chant when seeking to bring clarity into daily work: ‘let the light move through heaven and earth in me’—use before action or decision-making.
rocanā: luminous spaces from √ruc ‘shine’ (PIE *leuk- family of light-terms). rajas: in RV not only ‘dust’ but ‘luminous space/region’—a middle expanse. √van ‘win’ frames spiritual attainment as victory. a-rādhas ‘non-failing’ (rādhas = success/gift) suggests straightness of ṛta in action.
Pervasion of planes (divine and earthly), Attainment through repeated offering (adhvara), Non-failing success aligned with ṛta (a-rādhas)
Indra’s movement ‘vi’ through realms suggests the ordered pathways of ṛta that allow descent/ascent.
Rocanā symbolizes truth-light; to ‘go there’ is to enter satya-consciousness.
Integration theme: heaven and earth joined by the god’s radiant force, enabling fulfilled human becoming.
Integral psychological interpretation: planes of consciousness and their harmonization.
Heaven = higher mind; earth = embodied nature; radiance = consciousness-force that can pervade both.
Visualize a column of light moving from crown to feet and back, ‘through rocanā and earth’—one continuity.
Ājñā–Mūlādhāra axis integration
Nadi-śodhana (alternate nostril) 6 rounds to balance ‘heaven/earth’ currents
Widened awareness with readiness for action; luminous dynamism.
Chant once, then silently repeat ‘vi…vi…’ with the sense of widening; end with a resolve to ‘carry the adhvara’ through one concrete task today.
Maintain clear udatta peaks on key vocatives and verbs (vīndra yāsi; su vanvantu); exact svara requires śākhā notation
Give lift to the paired ‘vi … vi …’ openings; stress muhuḥ (repetition) and arādhasaḥ (unfailing success).
vīndra: lengthen ī; do not insert extra vowel between v and ī, rocanā: ‘ca’ palatal, not ‘cha’, puruṣṭuta: retroflex ṣ; keep ṭ, muhuḥ: final visarga lightly aspirated
Bright, forward-moving, with crisp consonants
