Sukta 9.80
Recitation accompanying Soma’s clarified flow into vessels and offering to Indra; supports the Indra-draught (Indrapāna) in Soma sacrifice.
Interiorization (pratyaṅ) as yogic turning within, Ananda (madá) as power for expansion of consciousness, Integration/assimilation (kukṣi) of divine force
Pervasion of all bhuvanas establishes harmony—each plane aligned to right movement.
Śravas as effective truth-power: illumination made manifest in life.
Centralization (Indra’s seat) → inward turn → expansion through worlds: a cosmogenesis pattern mirrored in the yogin.
Integral yoga psychology: centralization in higher mind and subsequent pervasion/integration.
Belly = inner center of digestion/assimilation (buddhi); horse = prāṇic speed; bull = potent outflow; flow = purification and pervasion.
Offer delight to the illumined mind (clarity at the brow), then practice ‘pratyaṅ’: draw awareness inward and let a warm, luminous current spread through all layers.
Ājñā (Indra’s seat) with pervasion down to Anāhata–Maṇipūra (ūrj)
Inhale up to the brow (Indra’s center); exhale down through the whole body imagining Soma spreading through ‘all worlds’.
Centralized clarity with expansive pervasion; playful strength (līlā).
If energy is scattered, first centralize (kukṣi/center), then turn inward (pratyaṅ), then expand (paprathe) without losing the center.
Three-tone Vedic chant; precise svara requires a svara-notated RV 9.80.3 text.
Mark the inward turn by a subtle softening at ‘pratyaṅ’; then broaden tone through ‘viśvā bhuvanā’; keep final ‘syandate vṛṣā’ flowing and strong.
