Sukta 7.8
अयमु ष्य सुमहाँ अवेदि होता मन्द्रो मनुषो यह्वो अग्निः । वि भा अकः ससृजानः पृथिव्यां कृष्णपविरोषधीभिर्ववक्षे ॥
ayám u ṣyá sumáhā̃ avedi hótā mandró mánuṣo yahvó agníḥ | ví bhā́ akāḥ sasṛjānáḥ pṛthivyā́ṃ kṛṣṇápavir oṣádhībhir vavakṣe ||
Este, em verdade, o grande e vasto, foi dado a conhecer — o sacerdote do homem, o jubiloso, o impetuoso Agni. Ele espalhou os resplendores, derramando-se sobre a terra; e com sua força de gume escuro revestiu-se das plantas — formas de vida.
