Sukta 1.53
ते त्वा मदा अमदन्तानि वृष्ण्या ते सोमासो वृत्रहत्येषु सत्पते । यत्कारवे दश वृत्राण्यप्रति बर्हिष्मते नि सहस्राणि बर्हयः ॥
té tvā madā́ amadan tā́ni vṛ́ṣṇyā té sómāso vṛtra-hátyeṣu sat-pate | yát kāráve dáśa vṛtrā́ṇy apratí barhíṣmate ní sahásrāṇi barháyaḥ ||
Esses êxtases te embriagaram — esses poderes taurinos; essas prensagens de Soma, ó senhor da verdade (satpati), nas batalhas contra Vṛtra. Quando, pelo cantor que estende o barhis (a esteira sagrada), derrubaste mil barreiras e dez obstáculos irresistíveis.
