W niebie, pośród błyskawic i jasnych rozbłysków, co też uczynili owaj dwaj w tamtym czasie? O Dewa, z łaskawej przychylności, wyjaśnij proszę ten mój wątpliwość.
Pṛthivī (default: inquirer in Varāha–Pṛthivī dialogue framework)
It exemplifies a common Purāṇic compositional technique: framing doctrinal or narrative material through an inquirer’s doubt (saṃśaya) and a teacher’s subsequent explanation, aiding transmission and memorization.
No specific terrestrial location is named here; the setting is “svarga” (heaven), a cosmological realm rather than a historically mappable site in this verse.
The verse foregrounds epistemic humility and disciplined inquiry: the speaker openly states doubt and requests clarification respectfully, presenting questioning as a legitimate method for understanding tradition.
