Sukta 9.8
These Soma streams have flowed toward what is dear—the desire of Indra—enhancing his hero-power.
Multiple currents of purified Soma (ete somāḥ) move toward what Indra loves: the increase of light and victorious force in consciousness. Indra’s ‘kāma’ is the soul’s aspiration for illumination and conquest of the coverer. When delight becomes clear and rightly directed, it does not weaken effort; it ‘vardhati vīryam’—it increases the hero-power of the illumined mind, enabling decisive breakthroughs against inner obstruction.
Joy aligned with aspiration strengthens courage and clarity. When delight serves truth, it becomes fuel for disciplined progress rather than distraction.
Soma-Indra relation, Empowerment, Increase of strength, Inner victory
Pavamāna seers emphasize Soma as the inner delight that empowers Indra’s illumination and victory.
The seer declares a key law of sādhanā: purified delight is not opposed to effort; it is the nourishment of victorious illumination.
Soma is the strengthener of Indra; it provides the energizing essence for the victory of light.
Ananda that feeds the illumined mind’s courage, decisiveness, and breakthrough capacity.
