Rig Veda 9.71.1: Mandala 9, Sukta 71, Mantra 1

Sukta 9.71

Rishi: Traditionally attributed in Book 9 to Soma-Pavamāna seers; specific r̥ṣi for 9.71 varies by Anukramaṇī tradition (often listed under Pavitra/Āṅgirasa lineages).
Devata: Soma Pavamāna (the self-purifying Soma), with associated powers of Dakṣiṇā and Brahman (mantric force).
Chandas: Likely Jagatī (common in Soma Pavamāna hymns), pending pada-count verification for this specific mantra.

Recitation with translationRig Veda 9.71.1

ā dakṣiṇā sṛjyate śuṣmyā̀sadaṁ veti druho rakṣásaḥ pāti jā́gṛviḥ | háriropáśaṁ kṛṇute nábhaspáya upastíre camvór bráhma nirṇíje ||

Dakshina, moc prawego rozeznania i skutecznej ofiary, zostaje uwolniona w ruch; potężny przychodzi na miejsce wypełnienia. Przebudzony i czujny, strzeże przed siłami zniekształcenia i wrogiej ciemności. Płowy Soma tworzy swoją świetlistą ozdobę; jako okrycie rozlewa mleko szerokiego firmamentu, a dla dwóch czar kładzie moc mantry jako oczyszczającą szatę.
