Outer meaning

Indu sends forth the Word from the seat above the ocean; quickening the honey-dripping vessel.

Inner meaning

The luminous Soma-essence (Indu) releases vāc—the inspired Word—from a high station above the ‘ocean’ of being (samudra). It energizes the inner vessel (kośa), making it drip with honeyed delight (madhuścut), so speech becomes truth-bearing and consciousness becomes plentiful and creative.

Universal truth

When delight rises above the mass of subconscious being and takes its seat in the higher poise, it gives birth to inspired speech and sweet, abundant expression that nourishes life.

Themes

Vāc (Word), Soma as inspirer, Ocean symbolism, Inner receptacle (kośa)

Significance

A classic Aurobindonian theme: vāc is born from higher Ananda seated above the oceanic inconscient; purified delight becomes the source of true speech and creative consciousness.
