Sukta 6.3
Agni praise in the daily offering cycle (Agnihotra / morning-evening kindling); also suitable for Agni’s invocation in Soma rites as Hotṛ and illuminator (general Śrauta usage rather than a single fixed viniyoga).
Ṛta as harmony (implicit in mitra-days), illumination overcoming darkness (night/day polarity), immortality of the divine fire (amartya)
Agni makes the ‘days’ resound in friendly order—Mitra’s harmony as social/cosmic ṛta.
The immortal Aruṣa leads toward truth-consciousness present in both night and day.
Dawns as progressive unveilings of light; Agni as the constant principle behind changing manifestations.
Integral Vedic psychology: dawns as ascending illuminations; Agni as psychic guide and mantra-force.
dawn (and night/day continuum)
Successive inner dawns (insights) clothe the mind; the same red flame guides in subconscious night and leads actively in waking clarity.
Let the breath ‘clothe’ the awareness in dawn-like light; feel Agni as the inspired voice in the heart rising to the throat as mantra.
Anāhata → Viśuddha (heart-fire becoming luminous speech)
So’ham-style gentle japa with nasal breathing; on inhale ‘usrāḥ’ (receive light), on exhale ‘śociṣā’ (radiate).
From fragmented mind to harmonious, luminous continuity through all states.
On waking, recall one guiding aspiration; chant to stabilize inner guidance for the whole day; at night, chant softly to keep the red thread of awareness.
Standard Śākala udatta/anudatta/svarita; maintain clear pitch steps especially on repeated ‘aruṣo yo divā nṝn’.
Treat the repeated phrases as a measured refrain; keep identical pitch contour both times for steadiness.
(usrāḥ): initial short u, clear sr cluster, (rārapīti): long ā; articulate pī clearly, (mitramahāḥ): avoid breaking mitra-; keep hāḥ aspirate, (aruṣo): ṛ is not present; it is aru- (a-ru-ṣa)
Warm and resonant, slightly ‘sung’ to honor rebha imagery.
