He—let Heaven and Earth with all the gods foster his force; when he went forth shaping his lordly greatness, having drunk Soma, the wise-willed one increased.
Indra’s growth is presented as a universal cooperation: the whole frame of existence (Heaven–Earth) and all divine powers support the ascent of illumined force. Indra ‘goes forth’ when the awakened intelligence enters action, shaping a greater lordliness (indriya mahimā). Soma—divine delight—feeds this expansion; and the ‘kratu-mān’ (one with effective will/insight) increases: true will becomes stronger by drinking bliss, not by strain alone.
When the seeker aligns with the totality (body–mind–world) and nourishes will with inner joy, the power of enlightened action naturally grows and is supported by the larger harmony of life.
Indra’s increase, cosmic support, Soma empowerment
A formula of integral support: the ascent of illumined power is not isolated—it is upheld by the whole cosmic and psychological system when aligned.
Central dynamism of illumination; the power that grows by Soma and leads the gods in victorious advance.
Joy-fed will: clarity empowered by delight, producing sustainable growth.
Indra-Soma context: praising Indra’s increase by Soma; could accompany Soma offering or celebratory stotra

Expansive and supportive; a ‘cosmic chorus’ feel in the first half, then a decisive growth statement.
Creates a sense of being upheld; steadies the listener into confident expansion rather than effortful striving.
Praise establishing Indra’s empowerment as a cosmic collaboration; suitable before/within the central Soma offering to Indra.
When invoking Indra’s strengthening through Soma; also as a ‘support prayer’ before major undertakings
Recitation while offering Soma/oblations, calling cosmic powers to foster the invoked force
Meditation before leadership/action: align ‘heaven and earth’ (mind and body), invoke supportive forces, then act from joy-fed clarity.
sa-cetas ‘same-minded’ from cetas ‘mind/intent’ (√cit ‘perceive’). √ (av) ‘aid’ expresses supporting powers. √ (vṛdh) ‘grow’ (PIE *werdh-; cf. Eng. ‘worth’ is not direct, but Germanic *werþ- is different; clearer: Skt vardhate ~ Avestan vərəδ-). The verse frames Indra’s growth through Soma and kratu, supported by the cosmic pair dyāvāpṛthivī and the collective gods—an image of total-ecology of consciousness aiding the ascent.
Kratu (effective will), collective divine cooperation (Viśve Devāḥ), growth of power through delight (Soma → avardhata)
Heaven–Earth and all gods ‘of one accord’ (sacetasā) exemplify ṛta as concordant action.
Kratu-mān suggests will guided by truth-vision rather than impulse.
Growth of divine power through delight and universal cooperation; becoming is fostered by harmony.
Integral Vedism: cosmic powers as inner faculties; growth by ānanda rather than ascetic strain.
Heaven = higher clarity; Earth = embodied stability; Soma = joy-essence; ‘going forth’ = entering life-action from awakened consciousness.
Feel the vertical axis (heaven–earth) aligned; invite all inner ‘gods’ (faculties) to cooperate; then ‘drink Soma’ as quiet joy in the heart and let will increase naturally.
Sahasrāra/Ājñā supported by Anāhata (joy) and Mūlādhāra (earth)
Nāḍī-śodhana 9 rounds to create ‘sacetasā’ concord; then 5 slow breaths imagining ‘Soma’ as cool sweetness descending on inhale
Supported expansion; luminous calm
If effort becomes strain, return to Soma: find one genuine note of gratitude/joy, then resume action from that taste.
Rigvedic accents; maintain smooth continuity across ‘dyāvāpṛthivī sacetasā’ as one concordant phrase.
Slightly lengthen long compounds (dyāvāpṛthivī, viśvebhirdevaiḥ) without rushing; keep a clear break after ‘āvatām’.
(dyāvāpṛthivī): long ā; retroflex ṛ in pṛ, (sacetasā): palatal c, long ā at end, (viśvebhir devaiḥ): keep v-śv cluster clear; ai diphthong in devaiḥ, (pītvī): long ī; tv cluster, (kratumāṃ): nasalized āṃ at end
Broad, serene, supportive resonance; let the final ‘avardhata’ feel like a gentle swelling.
