Outer meaning

(We praise) the shining king of the sacrifices, the guardian of ṛta, the radiant one, growing in his own home.

Inner meaning

Agni is rājantam—sovereign power in the inner adhvara (the journey/sacrifice). He guards ṛta: the right law of becoming, keeping the seeker’s energies aligned. Dīdivim marks the luminous consciousness-fire. Vardhamānam sve dame: he increases in his own house—within the embodied being—when tended by aspiration and right offering.

Universal truth

Spiritual progress depends on enthroning an inner sovereignty of truth: when the guiding light is protected and fed, it grows naturally within.

Themes

Agni as inner priest-power, Guardianship of Light (cows as rays of knowledge), Rita-centered illumination, Self-increasing aspiration
