O Lakshmano! W wielkiej ofierze odprawianej przez wielkodusznego Janakę, sam Waruna podarował mu dwa niebiańskie łuki budzące lęk, dwie nieprzenikalne boskie zbroje, dwa kołczany z niewyczerpanymi strzałami, dwa miecze pozłacane i jaśniejące jak słońce. Wszystkie te bronie są złożone w domu naszego nauczyciela (mędrca Wasiszty), gdzie są czczone. Idź i przynieś je szybko.
O Lakshmana! in the great sacrifice performed by the high-souled Janaka, Varuna himself gave him two awe-inspiring celestial bows, two impenetrable divine armours, two quivers with inexhaustible arrows, two swords plated with gold and as bright as the sun. All these weapons are deposited in the house of our preceptor (sage Vasistha) where they are being worshipped. Go and bring them swiftly.
The verse demonstrates the Dharma of proper preparation and respect for divine gifts. Rama instructs Lakshmana to retrieve the celestial weapons with reverence, showing that even in exile, one must honor and utilize the resources bestowed by the gods and preserved by one's preceptor.
Rama is preparing for his forest exile and instructing Lakshmana to collect the divine weapons that were gifted by Varuna to King Janaka during his great sacrifice. These weapons are stored at sage Vasistha's hermitage and will be essential for the brothers' protection in the forest.
The virtue of reverence and gratitude is emphasized - Rama acknowledges the divine origin of these weapons and ensures they are properly retrieved from the preceptor's house where they have been worshipped, showing respect for both divine gifts and the guru who safeguards them.
