Sukta 99

Rishi: Atharvanic transmission (anukramaṇī-dependent)

Devata: Indra

Chandas: Mixed; predominantly Triṣṭubh-style (varies by metrical analysis)

Ten krótki urok bojowy przyzywa Indrę jako groźnego władcę wyników i ustanawia jego "ramiona" jako ochronną barierę przeciwko nadchodzącemu zagrożeniu wojennemu. Przekształca podniesiony cios zabójczy wroga w ograniczone, zneutralizowane zagrożenie, a następnie pieczętuje rytuał modlitwą o pomyślność (svasti), harmonizując umysł praktykującego z boską łaską. Choć abhicārika w kontekście pola walki, jego operatywny ton stanowi ochronną kontrmagię, a nie agresywną szkodę.

“Arms” (bāhū) symbolize Indra’s active protection and strength; the mantra ritually constructs a surrounding enclosure so hostile force cannot penetrate.

No specific substances are prescribed in the verses. It can be performed through recitation with circling/quarter-marking gestures; optional water or a simple libation may be added if customary.
