divyó gandharvó bhúvanasya yás pátir éka evá namasyó ’vikṣvī́ḍyaḥ | táṃ tvā́ yaúmi bráhmaṇā divyá deva námas te astu diví te sadhástham
The heavenly Gandharva, who is lord of the world—one only, yea, worthy of reverence, not to be assailed with reproach—him, thee, do I bind unto me by sacred spell, O heavenly God. Homage be to thee: in heaven be thy settled seat.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (specific ṛṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī; commonly treated as Atharvan/Angiras-type protective utterance).
Devata: Gandharva (divya Gandharva) as celestial lord and apotropaic guardian.
Chandas: Mixed/irregular (Atharvavedic prose-verse tendency); approximates a jagatī-like cadence in parts but not strictly metrical throughout.
Primary: shanta
Secondary: adbhuta
