ଏହି ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ସୂକ୍ତରେ ଅଗ୍ନିଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ କରିବାକୁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସମ୍ମତି ଓ ଏକତାକୁ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ କରିବା ସହ ଯୋଡ଼ାଯାଇଛି: ଯେପରି ଏକଠା କରାଯାଇଥିବା ଇନ୍ଧନରେ ଅଗ୍ନି ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣତାକୁ ପାଏ, ସେପରି ଏକ ସମୁଦାୟ ଏକଠା ଇଚ୍ଛା-ସଙ୍କଳ୍ପରେ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ହୁଏ। ଏହା ସାଧାରଣ ବାଣୀ, ସାଧାରଣ ମନ, ଓ ସାଧାରଣ ରୀତି ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରେ, ଏବଂ ଯଜ୍ଞକୁ ବହୁମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ “ଏକ ଚେତନା” ଗଢ଼ିବାର ବ୍ୟବହାରିକ ଉପାୟ ଭାବେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରେ।

संसमिद्युवसे वृषन्नग्ने विश्वान्यर्य आ । इळस्पदे समिध्यसे स नो वसून्या भर ॥
ହେ ଅଗ୍ନେ, ବୃଷଣ—ବଳବାନ ଓ ସମୃଦ୍ଧ; ସଂସମିଦ୍ (ଏକତ୍ର ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳନ) ଦ୍ୱାରା ତୁମେ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଉଛ। ଇଳସ୍ପଦେ (ଇଳା/ଇଡା—ଆହ୍ୱାନାସନ)ରେ ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହୋଇ, ଆର୍ୟଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ପ୍ରୟାସ-ଶକ୍ତିକୁ ଏଠାକୁ ଆଣ; ଏବଂ ଆମକୁ ବସୁ—ସମୃଦ୍ଧିମାନ—ଦାନ କର।

सं गच्छध्वं सं वदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम् । देवा भागं यथा पूर्वे संजानाना उपासते ॥
ଏକସାଥି ଗଚ୍ଛ; ଏକସାଥି କଥା କହ; ତୁମ ମନ ଏକ ଜ୍ଞାନରେ ଜାଗ୍ରତ ହେଉ। ପୂର୍ବକାଳର ଦେବମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର ସଂଜାନ ହୋଇ ଭାଗକୁ ଉପାସନା କରିଥିଲେ—ସେପରି ତୁମେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏକମତ ହୋଇ, ସାଧାରଣ କର୍ମର ଯଜ୍ଞାର୍ପଣକୁ ଯଥାବିଧି କର।

समानो मन्त्रः समितिः समानी समानं मनः सह चित्तमेषाम् । समानं मन्त्रमभि मन्त्रये वः समानेन वो हविषा जुहोमि ॥
ତୁମମାନଙ୍କର ମନ୍ତ୍ର ଏକ; ତୁମମାନଙ୍କର ସମିତି (ସଭା) ଏକ; ତୁମମାନଙ୍କର ମନ ଏକ ଏବଂ ଜାଗ୍ରତ ଚିତ୍ତ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏକ। ଏକେଇ ମନ୍ତ୍ରରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମନ୍ତ୍ରିତ କରେ; ଏକେଇ ହବିଷା (ଆହୁତି)ରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ହୋମ କରେ—ଯେପରି ଅନେକରେ ଏକ ଚେତନା ଗଢ଼ିଉଠେ।
