Sukta 1.143
घृतप्रतीकं व ऋतस्य धूर्षदमग्निं मित्रं न समिधान ऋञ्जते । इन्धानो अक्रो विदथेषु दीद्यच्छुक्रवर्णामुदु नो यंसते धियम् ॥
ghṛta-pratīkaṃ va ṛtasya dhūḥ-sadam agniṃ mitraṃ na samidhāna ṛñjate | indhāno akro vidatheṣu dīdyac chukra-varṇām ud u no yaṃsate dhiyam ||
Agni yang berwajah terang oleh ghee, yang bersemayam pada asas ṛta, dinyalakan laksana Mitra—ia disusun menurut tertib. Apabila ia menyala, tidak melentur, bersinar dalam perhimpunan-perhimpunan, ia mengangkat bagi kami fikiran-ilham yang berwarna cahaya.
