Himne satu-mantra ini menyeru Indra sebagai Sutrāmā (“pelindung yang baik”) untuk memperoleh perlindungan yang penuh rahmat, menangkis permusuhan, dan menegakkan keadaan tanpa takut. Ia juga memohon “kekuasaan kepahlawanan yang unggul” (suvīrya)—gabungan kemakmuran, martabat, dan kekuatan kemenangan di bawah kuasa penjagaan Indra.
It is Indra praised as Sutrāmā, “the good protector”—a form emphasizing reliable guardianship, graciousness, and active defense against threats.
