Sukta 4

नमो॑ वः पितरो॒ यद् घोरं तस्मै॒ नमो॑ वः पितरो॒ यत् क्रू॒रं तस्मै॑

Sanskrit recitationAtharva Veda 18.4.83

námo vaḥ pitaro yád ghóram tásmai námo vaḥ pitaro yát krūrám tásmai

Homage to you, O Fathers—whatsoever in you is terrible, to that be homage; homage to you, O Fathers—whatsoever in you is cruel, to that be homage.

Sembah sujud kepada kamu, wahai Para Leluhur—apa jua pada kamu yang menggerunkan, kepada itu sembah sujud; sembah sujud kepada kamu, wahai Para Leluhur—apa jua pada kamu yang kejam, kepada itu sembah sujud.
