Sukta 9.97
समु प्रियो मृज्यते सानो अव्ये यशस्तरो यशसां क्षैतो अस्मे । अभि स्वर धन्वा पूयमानो यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
sám u priyó mṛ́jyate sā́nāv ávye yaśás-taro yaśásāṃ kṣáitaḥ asmè | abhí svàra dhánvā pūyamāno yūyáṃ pāta svastí-bhiḥ sadā́ naḥ ||
प्रिय (सोम) लोकरूपी शिखरावर शुद्ध केला जातो; यशस्वींमध्ये अधिक यशस्वी होऊन तो आमच्यासाठी तेजाने चमकतो. शुद्ध होत तो विस्तीर्ण धन्वा (विस्तार) भर स्वच्छ स्वराने हाक देतो; तुम्ही सदैव आम्हाला स्वस्तिभिः—कल्याणस्थितींनी—रक्षा करा.
