यदद्भिः परिषिच्यसे मृज्यमानो गभस्त्योः । द्रुणा सधस्थमश्नुषे ॥
yád adbhiḥ parísicyase mṛjyámāno gábhastyoḥ | druṇā́ sadhástham aśnuṣe ||
Describes the concrete Soma procedure (sprinkling with water, cleansing by hands, wooden vessel), but read inwardly as stages of purification leading to a stable seat of consciousness (sadhastha).
purification leading to stability (sadhastha), light-hands (gabhasti as rays) handling the essence, establishment of Ṛta through clarified substance
Purification is the movement from mixed/chaotic impulses into ṛta—rightly ordered delight.
When cleansed, Soma becomes ‘true’ delight—clear, undistorted by lower desire.
Establishing a ‘seat’ (sadhastha) mirrors the cosmic founding of a stable plane for the gods within the human being.
Proto-Vedāntic/Integral (Aurobindonian) reading: Ananda as a fundamental plane realized through purification and right action.
Waters = clarifying consciousness-currents; hands = deliberate shaping will; seat = stable samādhi-base where Ananda can remain.
Stabilizing inner joy after mental cleansing; letting delight become a ‘seat’ rather than a wave.
Anāhata (heart) / Sahasrāra (as abiding bliss), depending on practitioner emphasis
Nadi-śodhana or slow 1:2 exhale emphasis while mentally repeating the verse; feel ‘washing’ on inhale, ‘settling’ on exhale.
From cleared manas to quiet ānanda-samāhita (collected joy).
Begin with 3–5 minutes of breath-clearing; chant softly; then sit in silence sensing a stable base of sweetness in the heart or crown.
Vedic accents as per Śākala tradition not fully derivable from the provided text alone; chant with awareness of marked udātta/anudātta/svarita on accented syllables where indicated in the saṃhitā (e.g., yád-, pariṣicyáse, mṛjyamānáḥ).
Lean gently on udātta syllables; keep anudātta low and even; let svarita glide without stress—aim for ‘washing’ smoothness rather than force.
adbhiḥ: keep ‘db’ conjunct crisp (ad-bhiḥ), pariṣicyase: ‘ṣ’ retroflex; ‘cy’ as palatal cluster, mṛjyamānaḥ: vocalic ṛ (mṛ), and ‘jy’ cluster clear, gabhastyoḥ: ‘bh’ aspirated; long ‘oḥ’ at end
Clear, flowing, slightly nasal resonance; avoid harsh attack to preserve the purification mood.
