Sukta 8.1
क्वेयथ क्वेदसि पुरुत्रा चिद्धि ते मनः । अलर्षि युध्म खजकृत्पुरंदर प्र गायत्रा अगासिषुः ॥
kvéyatha kvédasi purutrā́ ciddhí té manaḥ | álarṣi yudhma khajakṛt-purandara prá gā́yatrā́ agāsiṣuḥ ||
तू कुठे आपली गती स्थिर करतोस, आणि कुठे खरोखर वास करतोस? कारण तुझे मन (चेतना) अनेक दिशांनी संचारते. हे युध्म (युद्धप्रवण), खजकृत्, पुरंदर (दुर्गभेदक)! गायत्री-शक्ती गीतरूपाने तुझ्याकडे उसळून आल्या—आमच्यात तुझी शक्ती जागी व्हावी म्हणून.
