Sukta 7.85
पुनीषे वामरक्षसं मनीषां सोममिन्द्राय वरुणाय जुह्वत् । घृतप्रतीकामुषसं न देवीं ता नो यामन्नुरुष्यतामभीके ॥
punī́ṣe vāṃ arakṣásaṃ manīṣā́ṃ sómam índrāya váruṇāya júhvat | ghṛtá-pratīkām uṣásaṃ ná devī́ṃ tā́ no yā́mann uruṣyatām abhī́ke ||
मी तुमच्या दोघांसाठी शत्रु-राक्षसी शक्तींविरहित अशी एक मनीषा (पवित्र बुद्धी/विचार) शुद्ध करतो आणि इंद्र व वरुण यांना सोमाची आहुती अर्पितो. घृत-प्रतीक (तुप-दीप्त मुख) असलेल्या देवी उषेसारखे, प्रवासाच्या मार्गावर, अगदी जवळ राहून, तुम्ही दोघे आम्हांला रक्षण करा.
