Sukta 4.19
पूर्वीरुषसः शरदश्च गूर्ता वृत्रं जघन्वाँ असृजद्वि सिन्धून् । परिष्ठिता अतृणद्बद्बधानाः सीरा इन्द्रः स्रवितवे पृथिव्या ॥
pūrvī́r uṣásaḥ śáradaś ca gūrtā́ vṛ́traṁ jaghanvā́ṁ asṛ́jad ví síndhūn | pári-sthitā atṛṇad badbadhānā́ḥ sīrā́ índraḥ sravitáve pṛthivyā́ḥ ||
अनेक उषा आणि शरद्-ऋतू रोखले गेले होते; पण इंद्राने वृत्राचा वध केला तेव्हा त्याने नद्यांना मुक्त केले. चहूबाजूंनी थांबलेल्या, अडवलेल्या धारांना सैलपणा आला, बंधने तुटली आणि त्या वाहू लागल्या; इंद्राने पृथ्वीवर सरितांना प्रवाहित केले.
