Sukta 2.38
समाववर्ति विष्ठितो जिगीषुर्विश्वेषां कामश्चरताममाभूत् । शश्वाँ अपो विकृतं हित्व्यागादनु व्रतं सवितुर्दैव्यस्य ॥
sam-ā́vavarti víṣṭhito jigīṣúr víśveṣāṃ kā́maś cáratām amā́bhūt | śáśvāṃ ápo ví-kṛtaṃ hitvī́ ā́gād ánu vratáṃ savitúr daívyasya ||
तो वळून पुन्हा परत आला—दृढ उभा, विजयाची इच्छा धरणारा; चालणाऱ्या सर्वांच्या अंतरी तोच कामना झाला. विकृत रचना मागे टाकून, तो शाश्वत आपः (जल) घेऊन आला—सविताच्या दैवी व्रत (ऋत-नियम)ाचे अनुसरण करून.
