Sukta 2.24
स संनयः स विनयः पुरोहितः स सुष्टुतः स युधि ब्रह्मणस्पतिः । चाक्ष्मो यद्वाजं भरते मती धनादित्सूर्यस्तपति तप्यतुर्वृथा ॥
sá saṃnáyaḥ sá vináyaḥ puróhitaḥ sá suṣṭútaḥ sá yudhí bráhmaṇas pátiḥ | cākṣmó yád vā́jaṃ bhárate matī́ dhánād ít sū́ryas tapati tapyátur vṛ́thā ||
तोच नेता, तोच विनययुक्त सुज्ञ मार्गदर्शक, तोच अग्रस्थ पुरोहित. तोच सुष्टुत; युद्धात तोच ब्रह्मणस्पती. जेव्हा तो मती—प्रेरित विचार—यांच्या बळावर ‘वाज’ (बलसमृद्धी) धनरूपाने आणतो, तेव्हा त्या लाभाविरुद्ध सूर्याचे तापणेही व्यर्थ तापते.
