स वर्धिता वर्धनः पूयमानः सोमो मीढ्वाँ अभि नो ज्योतिषावीत् । येना नः पूर्वे पितरः पदज्ञाः स्वर्विदो अभि गा अद्रिमुष्णन् ॥

Transliteration

sá vardhitā́ várdhanaḥ pū́yamānaḥ sómo mīḍhvā́ṃ abhí no jyótiṣāvīt | yéna naḥ pū́rve pitáraḥ padájñāḥ svàrvido abhí gā́ ádrim uṣṇán ||

Translation

ಅವನು—ವರ್ಧಿತನೂ ವರ್ಧಕನೂ ಆಗಿ—ಪವಮಾನನಾದ ಸೋಮನು, ದಾನಶೀಲನು, ಜ್ಯೋತಿಸ್ಸಹಿತ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನಿಂದಲೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವ ಪಿತೃಗಳು—ಪದಜ್ಞರು, ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವರು, ಸ್ವರ್ವಿದರು (ಸೂರ್ಯಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಕಂಡವರು)—ಅದ್ರಿ (ಕಲ್ಲು)ಯನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಿ ಕಿರಣಗಳನ್ನು (ಗೋಗಳನ್ನು) ಜಯಿಸಿದರು.
