य इन्द्र सोमपातमो मदः शविष्ठ चेतति । येना हंसि न्यत्रिणं तमीमहे ॥

Transliteration

yá índra soma-pā́tamo mádaḥ śaviṣṭha cétati | yéna haṃ́si ní atríṇaṃ tám īmahe ||

Translation

ಹೇ ಇಂದ್ರ, ಸೋಮಪಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಮೋತ್ತಮನೇ, ಆ ಮದ (ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ-ಶಕ್ತಿ)ಯಿಂದ, ಹೇ ಅತಿಶಕ್ತಿಮಾನ್, ನಿನ್ನ ಚೇತನ ಜ್ವಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಮತ್ತು ಅದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಭಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೆಳಗಿಳಿಸಿ ದೂರ ತಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀ. ಆ ನಿನ್ನದೇ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಬೇಡುತ್ತೇವೆ।
