Sukta 1.92
एता उ त्या उषसः केतुमक्रत पूर्वे अर्धे रजसो भानुमञ्जते । निष्कृण्वाना आयुधानीव धृष्णवः प्रति गावोऽरुषीर्यन्ति मातरः ॥
etā u tyā uṣásaḥ ketúm akrata pū́rve árdhe rájasaḥ bhā́num añjate | niṣkṛṇvānā ā́yudhānīva dhṛ́ṣṇavaḥ práti gā́vo 'ruṣīr yanti mā́taraḥ ||
ಈ ಉಷಸಃ—ಉಷಸ್ಸುಗಳು ಜಾಗೃತಿಯ ಕೇತು—ಧ್ವಜವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿವೆ; ರಜಸಃನ ಪೂರ್ವ ಅರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವು ಭಾನು—ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನ ತೇಜಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಅಂಜಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಆಯುಧಾನೀವ—ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ ಧೃಷ್ಟ ಯೋಧರಂತೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊರತರುತ್ತಾ, ಅರುಷೀ ಮಾತರಃ—ಕೆಂಪುಗವರ್ಣದ ಮಾತೃ-ಗಾವುಗಳು (ಕಿರಣಗಳು) ನಮ್ಮತ್ತ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತ್ತವೆ.
