प्र सु विश्वान्रक्षसो धक्ष्यग्ने भवा यज्ञानामभिशस्तिपावा । अथा वह सोमपतिं हरिभ्यामातिथ्यमस्मै चकृमा सुदाव्ने ॥
prá sú viśvā́n rákṣaso dhákṣy agne bhávā yajñā́nām abhiśastipā́vā | áthā vaha sómapatiṃ háribhyām ātíthyam asmai cakṛma sudā́vne ||
ಓ ಅಗ್ನೇ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಕ್ಷಸ್—ಅಂಧಕಾರದ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳು—ನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ದಹಿಸು; ಯಜ್ಞಗಳ ಅಭಿಶಸ್ತಿ—ವೈರಿಯ ಆಕ್ರಮಣ—ದಿಂದ ಕಾಪಾಡುವ ಪಾವಕ—ಶುದ್ಧಿಕರ್ತಾ—ನಾಗು. ನಂತರ ಹರಿಭ್ಯಾಮ್—ತಾಮ್ರವರ್ಣ ಅಶ್ವಗಳು—ಸಹಿತ ಸೊಮಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆತರು; ಆ ಸುಧಾವನ—ಉದಾರ ದಾತ—ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಾವು ಅತಿಥ್ಯ—ಅರ್ಪಣದ ಆತಿಥ್ಯ-ಸೇವೆ—ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
