Sukta 1.55
सो अर्णवो न नद्यः समुद्रियः प्रति गृभ्णाति विश्रिता वरीमभिः । इन्द्रः सोमस्य पीतये वृषायते सनात्स युध्म ओजसा पनस्यते ॥
só arṇavó na nádyaḥ samudriyáḥ práti gṛbhṇāti ví-śritā vārī́ma-bhiḥ | índraḥ sómasya pītáye vṛṣāyate sanā́t sá yudhmá ójasā panasyate ||
ಸಮುದ್ರವು ನದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವಂತೆ, ಅವನು ವಿಶಾಲವಾಗಿ ಹರಡಿದ ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ವಿಶಾಲತೆಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನತ್ತ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇಂದ್ರನು ಸೋಮಪಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವೀರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದಿಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಅವನು ಯುದ್ಧಮ, ಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ—ಜಯ ತರುವ ಓಜಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅವನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
