अभिषेकोपवास-आदेशः
Coronation Preparations and the Fast Enjoined
गच्छोपवासं काकुत्स्थं कारयाद्य तपोधन।श्रीयशोराज्यलाभाय वध्वा सह यतव्रतम्।।।।
gacchopavāsaṃ kākutsthaṃ kārayādya tapodhana |
śrīyaśorājyalābhāya vadhvā saha yatavratam ||
ಹೇ ತಪೋಧನ ಋಷಿಯೇ! ಇಂದು ಹೋಗಿ, ವ್ರತನಿಷ್ಠನಾದ ಕಾಕುತ್ಸ್ಥ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಸೊಸೆಯಾದ ಸೀತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿಸು; ಇದರಿಂದ ಶ್ರೀ, ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯಲಾಭವು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಲಿ.
Rama also sat for a while in the company of his sweet-tongued friends and duly honoured by them in every way took leave of them and entered his apartment.
Dharma is shown as disciplined preparation for a righteous public act (coronation): vows, restraint, and ritual observance are treated as supports for legitimate kingship and communal well-being.
Daśaratha instructs Vasiṣṭha to go to Rāma and arrange a fast for Rāma and Sītā as part of the coronation rites.
Rāma’s vrata-niyama (steadfastness in vows) and the king’s concern for auspicious, rule-bound procedure.
