Sukta 10.150

Devata

Inside Sukta 150

How it unfolds

  1. Where it opens

Agni is praised as the ever-kindled fire and asked to come with the great divine families for mṛḻīka (healing grace).

  2. Development

The hymn intensifies the invitation: Agni is addressed as Jātavedas, “rich in all boons,” and requested to bring the gods who are priyavrata—aligned with the beloved ordinance.

  3. Climax

Agni’s role as the effective summoner of the devas becomes central: he is the conduit through whom divine order and blessing arrive to the sacrificer.

  4. Where it settles

The final verse seals confidence by citing Agni’s past protection of famed ṛṣis and a king in battle, ending with Agni invoked as the purohita for healing grace.
