Outer meaning

O Pavamāna Soma, shining with radiance, a god among the gods, enter us with all riches.

Inner meaning

Let the self-purifying Delight, many-rayed in illumination, move freely among the divine powers in us and then enter the human instrument, bringing the total wealth—light, strength, joy, and right functioning of all faculties.

Universal truth

True prosperity is an inner plenitude: when consciousness is purified, the ‘riches’ of clarity, harmony, and power naturally arrive and take their place within.

Themes

Soma-ritual, purification, invocation for inner riches, descent/entry of divine power

Other hymns
RV 9 Pavamāna hymns with the refrain-like invitations to Soma to ‘enter’ and ‘purify’

Family tradition

Soma-Pavamāna liturgical-poetic stream; seers articulate stages of inner purification as a shared yogic-ritual knowledge.

Significance

The rishi-function here is invitational: opening the individual to a descent of purified delight that integrates all divine powers.

Devata
Soma Pavamāna
Epithets
Pavamāna, Rucā-rucā (many-radiant), Deva among Devas
Related deities
Indra, Agni, Sarasvatī, Maruts

Cosmic role

Mediator and augmenter: Soma carries the offering upward and brings divine plenitudes downward; he is the circulating sap of the cosmic sacrifice.

Inner power

Illumined Ananda that can ‘enter’ the nerves and mind without distortion, establishing a stable joy and clarity.

Where it is used

Pavamāna chanting during Soma purification and offering sequences
