Soma (Pavamāna)
આ ટૂંકું પાવમાન સ્તોત્ર શુદ્ધ થતો અને પવિત્ર આસનોમાં સ્થાપિત થતો સોમ સ્તવે છે. વીરશક્તિ અને સૌંદર્ય ધારણ કરતો સોમ સફળ, “સુસંપન્ન” યજ્ઞકર્મને આધાર આપે છે. તેને રાજસ્વરૂપ અને સ્વર્ગજન્મા તરીકે સંબોધવામાં આવ્યો છે; તે ધન અને બળ લાવે છે; અને પ્રેરિત થતાં તે વધુ મહાન “ઇન્દ્ર-શક્તિ”માં વિકસે છે, ઇચ્છિત સહાય અને વિસ્તૃત પરાક્રમ પ્રદાન કરે છે.

तं त्वा नृम्णानि बिभ्रतं सधस्थेषु महो दिवः । चारुं सुकृत्ययेमहे ॥
હે સોમ! મહાન દિવ (દિવ્ય આકાશ)ના સધસ્થો (સામૂહિક આસનો)માં નૃમ્ણ (વીરબળ) ધારણ કરનાર તને અમે શોધીએ છીએ—સુકૃત્ય (સત્કર્મ) અને સિદ્ધ કાર્ય માટે મનોહર તને અમે ઉપાસીએ છીએ.

संवृक्तधृष्णुमुक्थ्यं महामहिव्रतं मदम् । शतं पुरो रुरुक्षणिम् ॥
સંવૃક્ત (શુદ્ધ) અને ધૃષ્ણુ (ધૈર્યવાન) તું ઉકથ્ય (સ્તુતિયોગ્ય) છે; મહાન મહિવ્રત (વિશાળ-મહાન નિયમ)નું મદ (આનંદ-ઉન્માદ) તું છે—આક્રમણ સામે સત્તાના સો પુરો (મુખ/મોરચા)નું રક્ષણ કરનાર.

अतस्त्वा रयिमभि राजानं सुक्रतो दिवः । सुपर्णो अव्यथिर्भरत् ॥
અતઃ, હે સુક્રતુ રાજન્, દિવ્ય સમૃદ્ધિરૂપ રયિને તારી પાસે—સુવર્ણ પાંખો ધરાવતો, અવિથિ (અવ્યથિત), સુપર્ણ—આકાશમાંથી વહન કરીને લાવે છે.

विश्वस्मा इत्स्वर्दृशे साधारणं रजस्तुरम् । गोपामृतस्य विर्भरत् ॥
પ્રકાશના દર્શક દરેક ઋષિને તે સામાન્ય નિધિ લાવે છે—રજસ્ (મધ્યલોકો)માં તુર (ઝડપી) ગતિથી—ઋત (સત્યવ્યવસ્થા)ના ગોપા (રક્ષક)ને વહન કરીને લાવે છે.

अधा हिन्वान इन्द्रियं ज्यायो महित्वमानशे । अभिष्टिकृद्विचर्षणिः ॥
