Sukta 9.32
अस्मे धेहि द्युमद्यशो मघवद्भ्यश्च मह्यं च । सनिं मेधामुत श्रवः ॥
asmé dhéhi dyumád yáśo maghávadbhyaś ca máhyaṃ ca | saníṃ médhām utá śrávaḥ ||
In us place luminous glory—on the givers and on me as well—grant also winning increase, inspired intelligence, and fame.
The seeker asks Soma to establish dyumat yaśas—luminous spiritual radiance—in the collective of fellow aspirants (maghavadbhyaḥ, the generous/giving ones) and in oneself. The prayer includes sani (winning acquisition: steady gain of inner riches), medhā (inspired intelligence, right discernment), and śravas (wide hearing/fame: the soul’s resonance and effective expression of truth).
Spiritual realization should manifest as shared luminous strength, steady inner increase, clear inspired intelligence, and a truthful expression that benefits the wider life.
Prayer for boons, Illumined glory, Inspired intelligence, Spiritual gain
Ninth Maṇḍala concluding-prayer style within Pavamāna sequences—turning praise into inner boons.
A practical siddhi-prayer: not merely ecstasy, but luminous capacity (yaśas), stable gain (sani), inspired mind (medhā), and effective expression (śravas).
Bestower of luminous glory and inspired intelligence; increaser of inner riches and the effective spread of truth.
Ananda that crystallizes into medhā (illumined understanding) and yaśas (radiant power in action/speech).

4 padas × ~11 syllables
Prayerful, balanced; enumerative cadence (boon-list) that lands firmly.
Centers the mind; leaves a sense of blessing and steady empowerment rather than excitation.
Boon-request within Soma purification hymns; in Shrauta setting, accompanies the flow/clarification and the seeking of ‘yaśas, medhā’ for sacrificer and patrons.
After praise/flow verses to invoke fruits of the rite for sacrificer and patrons
Recitation accompanying libation intent and distribution of merit
A mantra for daily practice: ask for luminous presence, steady progress, inspired intelligence, and beneficial expression in life and work.
dhehi: √dhā ‘set, establish’—key for ‘fixing’ divine states in the human vessel. dyumat: dyu ‘heaven/light’ + -mat ‘possessing’. yaśas: from √yaś ‘to shine forth, be worthy of honor’—glory as radiance. sanim: √san ‘win, gain’—a spiritual acquisition through right striving. medhā: linked to √medh ‘to be wise/measure/know’—capacity for right discernment aligned with Ṛta. śravas: from √śru ‘hear’—that which is heard/spread; in inner sense, the vibration of realized truth.
Establishment of divine states (√dhā), Medhā as truth-guided intelligence, Śravas as effective manifestation of truth
Satya (truth); Ṛta (right action/order); Brahmanaspati-like power of inspired word (śravas as effective resonance); Ananda→Medhā transformation
Medhā and yaśas are results of alignment with Ṛta; gain (sani) is ‘won’ by right order, not ego-force.
Śravas as truth that is heard and carries; yaśas as truth’s radiance in life.
From essence (Soma) to faculties: delight becomes intelligence and effective manifestation.
Integral yoga reading: Ananda as a power that can organize mind (medhā) and life-expression (śravas).
Illumination established in the being; steady increase; inspired discernment; resonant truthful expression.
Receive Soma’s blessing as luminous presence, inspired discernment, and steady progress shared with others.
Ājñā (medhā) and Viśuddha (śravas—truthful resonance)
Nādi-śodhana (alternate nostril) for 5–7 rounds, then chant once slowly; feel ‘dyumat yaśas’ spreading as a calm radiance.
Clear, benevolent, steady; oriented to service and right expression.
After chanting, sit 2 minutes: (1) feel light in the forehead (medhā), (2) feel truthful resonance in the throat (śravas), (3) commit one generous act (maghavat) to embody the mantra.
Maintain a calm, prayerful contour; follow saṃhitā accent marks for udātta/svarita; keep the boon-list evenly articulated without rushing.
Slight emphasis on ‘द्यु॒मद्यशो॑’ as the central ask; then enumerate ‘सनिं मेधामुत श्रवः’ with three clear beats.
asme: short a; s cluster clean, dhehi: aspirate dh; long e, dyumat: dy- cluster; keep y audible, maghavadbhyaḥ: gh voiced aspirate; bhy cluster careful; final ḥ soft, mahyaṃ: nasal ṃ; do not over-nasalize, medhām: dh aspirated; long ā, śravaḥ: ś palatal; final ḥ soft echo
Soft, steady, blessing-like; end with a gentle downward settling.
