Sukta 2.31
उत त्ये देवी सुभगे मिथूदृशोषासानक्ता जगतामपीजुवा । स्तुषे यद्वां पृथिवि नव्यसा वचः स्थातुश्च वयस्त्रिवया उपस्तिरे ॥
utá tyé devī́ subhágē mithū-dṛ́śo uṣásā-náktā jágatām api-júvā | stuṣé yád vāṃ pṛthivi návyasā vácas sthātúś ca váyas trí-vayā upa-stíre ||
અને તે બે દેવીઓ—સુભાગી, એક જ દૃષ્ટિવાળી જોડિ—ઉષા અને નક્તા (રાત), જે સર્વ ચલિત જગતને આગળ ધપાવે છે; હે પૃથ્વી, જ્યારે હું તને નવા વચનથી સ્તવું છું, ત્યારે સ્થાવર સત્તા અને ત્રિવિધ જીવનની પંખી સમી શક્તિઓ તારા વૃદ્ધિ માટે ઉપસ્તર (શય્યા/આધાર) રૂપે પોતાને પાથરી દે છે.
