Sukta 2.20
स वृत्रहेन्द्रः कृष्णयोनीः पुरंदरो दासीरैरयद्वि । अजनयन्मनवे क्षामपश्च सत्रा शंसं यजमानस्य तूतोत् ॥
sá vṛtra-héndraḥ kṛṣṇá-yonīḥ puram-daró dā́sīr airayad ví | ájanayan mánave kṣā́ma-paś ca satrā́ śáṃsaṃ yájamānasya tū́tot ||
વૃત્રહા ઇન્દ્ર, દુર્ગભેદી પુરંદર, કૃષ્ણયોની (અંધકારનિવાસી) દાસી શક્તિઓને વિખેરી દૂર હંકારી. મનુ માટે તેણે ખેતરો (ક્ષામ્) અને જળો (અપઃ) પ્રગટ કર્યા; અને યજમાનના સ્તુતિ-શંસને સદા પ્રેરિત કરતો રહ્યો.
