वातासो न ये धुनयो जिगत्नवोऽग्नीनां न जिह्वा विरोकिणः । वर्मण्वन्तो न योधाः शिमीवन्तः पितॄणां न शंसाः सुरातयः ॥

Transliteration

vātā́so na yé dhúnayo jigatnávो’gnīnā́ṃ na jihvā́ vi-rokíṇaḥ | vármaṇvanto na yodhā́ḥ śimī́vantaḥ pitṝṇā́ṃ na śaṃsā́ḥ su-rā́tayaḥ ||

Translation

પવન જેમ તેઓ ધુનિ—ધકેલતા ઝોકાં—બની આગળ ધસી જાય છે; અગ્નિઓની જિહ્વાઓ જેમ તેઓ પ્રકાશિત થઈ ઝળહળે છે. કવચધારી યોધાઓ જેમ તેઓ બળથી આગળ વધે છે; પિતૃઓના શંસાઓ જેમ તેઓ સુદાતી—સારા દાનની—વાણી છે.
