Sukta 10.48
अहमिन्द्रो रोधो वक्षो अथर्वणस्त्रिताय गा अजनयमहेरधि । अहं दस्युभ्यः परि नृम्णमा ददे गोत्रा शिक्षन्दधीचे मातरिश्वने ॥
ahám índro ródho vákṣo átharvaṇas tritā́ya gā́ ajanayam áher ádhi | aháṃ dásyubhyaḥ pári nṛ́mṇam ā́ dade gotrā́ śíkṣan dadhī́ce mātáriśvane ||
હું ઇન્દ્ર છું—અવરોધક રોધ અને અથર્વણ-શક્તિનું વિસ્તૃત વક્ષ; ત્રિતાને માટે મેં અહિ (સર્પ) ઉપરથી પ્રકાશની કિરણો ઉત્પન્ન કરી. દસ્યુઓ સામે મેં પરાક્રમનું આવરણ ગોઠવ્યું; અને માતરિશ્વન માટે દધીચિને ગુપ્ત ગોત્રાઓ (ગાયો-વાડા) શીખવ્યા—જેથી રહસ્ય અગ્નિ વહન થાય.
