देवाः कपोत इषितो यदिच्छन्दूतो निॠत्या इदमाजगाम । तस्मा अर्चाम कृणवाम निष्कृतिं शं नो अस्तु द्विपदे शं चतुष्पदे ॥
હે દેવો, જો પ્રેરિત અને શોધક કબૂતર નિઋતિ (વિઘટન અને દુર્ભાગ્યની શક્તિ)નો દૂત બની અહીં આવ્યો હોય, તો તે (અંધકારમય) પ્રેષણ માટે અમે સ્તુતિ અર્પીએ છીએ અને નિવૃત્તિ/મુક્તિનું કર્મ કરીએ છીએ. અમને દ્વિપદમાં શાંતિ રહે, ચતુષ્પદમાં પણ શાંતિ રહે.

शिवः कपोत इषितो नो अस्त्वनागा देवाः शकुनो गृहेषु । अग्निर्हि विप्रो जुषतां हविर्नः परि हेतिः पक्षिणी नो वृणक्तु ॥
પ્રેરિત હોવા છતાં કબૂતર અમારે માટે શિવ (કલ્યાણકારી) રહે; દેવો, અમારા ઘરોમાં શકુન નિર્દોષ રહે. કારણ કે વિપ્ર અગ્નિ અમારી હવિને પ્રસન્નતાથી સ્વીકારે; અને પાંખવાળી હેતિ (શત્રુનો પ્રહાર) અમને વળી જાય, અમને ન પસંદ કરે.

हेतिः पक्षिणी न दभात्यस्मानाष्ट्र्यां पदं कृणुते अग्निधाने । शं नो गोभ्यश्च पुरुषेभ्यश्चास्तु मा नो हिंसीदिह देवाः कपोतः ॥
પાંખવાળી હેતિ અમને ન છેતરે, ન દબાવે; અગ્નિધાનના સ્થાને તે પોતાનું પદચિહ્ન કરે છે. અમારા ગોભ્યો (કિરણો/‘ગાયો’) અને પુરુષો માટે શાંતિ રહે; હે દેવો, અહીં કબૂતર અમને હિંસા ન કરે.

यदुलूको वदति मोघमेतद्यत्कपोतः पदमग्नौ कृणोति । यस्य दूतः प्रहित एष एतत्तस्मै यमाय नमो अस्तु मृत्यवे ॥
ઉલૂક જે બોલે છે તે વ્યર્થ છે; અને કબૂતર અગ્નિ પર જે પદચિહ્ન કરે છે તે પણ વ્યર્થ છે—જ્યારે આ તો તે શક્તિનો મોકલાયેલ દૂત માત્ર છે. તે યમને નમસ્કાર—મૃત્યુને નમસ્કાર; (તેનો અધિકાર) અન્યત્ર તૃપ્ત થાઓ, અહીં નહીં.

ऋचा कपोतं नुदत प्रणोदमिषं मदन्तः परि गां नयध्वम् । संयोपयन्तो दुरितानि विश्वा हित्वा न ऊर्जं प्र पतात्पतिष्ठः ॥
ઋચાથી કપોતને હાંકી કાઢો—દૂર ધકેલો; પોષક રસમાં આનંદિત થઈ તેને ચારે તરફ ફેરવી (બહાર) લઈ જાઓ. સર્વ દુરીતોને એકત્ર કરી, અમારી ઊર્જાની પૂર્ણતા અસ્પર્શ રાખીને, તે અતિશીઘ્ર પાંખ ફેલાવી આગળ ઉડી જાય—સર્વથી દ્રુત ગતિએ.
Frequently Asked Questions
