कामो॑ जज्ञे प्रथ॒मो नैनं॑ दे॒वा आ॑पुः पि॒तरो॒ न मर्त्याः॑ । तत॒स्त्वम॑सि॒ ज्याया॑न् वि॒श्वहा॑ म॒हांस्तस्मै॑ ते काम॒ नम॒ इत् कृ॑णोमि
kā́mo jajñe prathamó náinaṁ devā́ ā́puḥ pitáro ná mártyāḥ | tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṁs tásmai te kā́ma náma íd kṛṇomi
Kāma was born the first: him neither Gods attained, nor Fathers, nor mortals. Therefore art thou ever greater, mighty: to thee, O Kāma, to him—homage, even so, I render.
કામ પ્રથમ જન્મ્યો; તેને ન દેવોએ પ્રાપ્ત કર્યો, ન પિતૃઓએ, ન મર્ત્યોએ. તેથી તું સર્વકાળે વધુ મહાન, પરાક્રમી છે; હે કામ, તને—તેને—હું નમસ્કાર અર્પું છું.
