Sukta 3

Mantra 1

एष देवो अमर्त्यः पर्णवीरिव दीयति । अभि द्रोणान्यासदम् ॥

This is the god, the immortal Power: like a winged one he speeds; he presses on toward the vats, toward the settling-place.

Mantra 2

एष देवो विपा कृतोऽति ह्वरांसि धावति । पवमानो अदाभ्यः ॥

This god, made wise in discernment, runs beyond the crookednesses; self-purifying, he is unassailable.

Mantra 3

एष देवो विपन्युभिः पवमान ऋतायुभिः । हरिर्वाजाय मृज्यते ॥

This god, self-purifying, is cleansed by the inspired and by the seekers of the Right; the tawny one is polished for the plenitude of force.

Mantra 4

एष विश्वानि वार्या शूरो यन्निव सत्वभिः । पवमानः सिषासति ॥

This hero, self-purifying, strives toward all desirable treasures, as if driving forward with his powers of being.

Mantra 5

एष देवो रथर्यति पवमानो दशस्यति । आविष्कृणोति वग्वनुम् ॥

This god, self-purifying, moves as on a chariot and wins homage; he makes manifest the inspired singer.

Mantra 6

एष विप्रैरभिष्टुतोऽपो देवो वि गाहते । दधद्रत्नानि दाशुषे ॥

This god, praised by the seers, plunges into the waters; bearing the treasures, he gives them to the giver.

Mantra 7

एष दिवं वि धावति तिरो रजांसि धारया । पवमानः कनिक्रदत् ॥

This self-purifying one runs out toward heaven, across the mid-regions in his stream; he cries aloud in his forward rush.

Mantra 8

एष दिवं व्यासरत्तिरो रजांस्यस्पृतः । पवमानः स्वध्वरः ॥

This self-purifying one has flowed out toward heaven, across the regions untouched; he is the one of the true and self-moving sacrifice.

Mantra 9

एष प्रत्नेन जन्मना देवो देवेभ्यः सुतः । हरिः पवित्रे अर्षति ॥

This god, by his ancient birth, pressed out for the gods, the tawny one streams in the purifier.

Mantra 10

एष उ स्य पुरुव्रतो जज्ञानो जनयन्निषः । धारया पवते सुतः ॥

This indeed, of many workings, being born, brings forth the impulsions; pressed out, he flows in a stream, self-purifying.
