Sukta 75

Mantra 1

प्रति प्रियतमं रथं वृषणं वसुवाहनम् । स्तोता वामश्विनावृषिः स्तोमेन प्रति भूषति माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Toward your most beloved chariot—strong, bearing plenitudes—the seer who praises you, O Aśvins, adorns his offering with the hymn. Hear my honeyed call that carries delight.

Mantra 2

अत्यायातमश्विना तिरो विश्वा अहं सना । दस्रा हिरण्यवर्तनी सुषुम्ना सिन्धुवाहसा माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Come swiftly, O Aśvins, crossing beyond all barriers, as I have called from of old. O wondrous doers, with golden courses, bearing happy energies and the rivering currents—hear my honeyed invocation.

Mantra 3

आ नो रत्नानि बिभ्रतावश्विना गच्छतं युवम् । रुद्रा हिरण्यवर्तनी जुषाणा वाजिनीवसू माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Come to us, O Aśvins, bearing your treasures. O strong and ardent ones with golden paths, consenting to our offering, O lords of plenitude of force—hear my honeyed call.

Mantra 4

सुष्टुभो वां वृषण्वसू रथे वाणीच्याहिता । उत वां ककुहो मृगः पृक्षः कृणोति वापुषो माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Your well-shaped praises are set upon your chariot, O lords of force and plenitude. And the high-crested swift one makes for you a shining form—hear my honeyed call.

Mantra 5

बोधिन्मनसा रथ्येषिरा हवनश्रुता । विभिश्च्यवानमश्विना नि याथो अद्वयाविनं माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Awake in mind, swift on the chariot-road, hearers of the call—O Aśvins, with your powers you set right Cyavāna, the undivided one. Hear my honeyed invocation.

Mantra 6

आ वां नरा मनोयुजोऽश्वासः प्रुषितप्सवः । वयो वहन्तु पीतये सह सुम्नेभिरश्विना माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

O lords, let your mind-yoked horses, dripping with energizing dew, bring you swiftly for the drinking, together with your happy graces. Hear my honeyed call, O Aśvins.

Mantra 7

अश्विनावेह गच्छतं नासत्या मा वि वेनतम् । तिरश्चिदर्यया परि वर्तिर्यातमदाभ्या माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Come here, O Aśvins, O Nāsatyas; do not turn away from us. Even if the path is crossed and encircled by hostile movements, come, O invincible ones—hear my honeyed call.

Mantra 8

अस्मिन्यज्ञे अदाभ्या जरितारं शुभस्पती । अवस्युमश्विना युवं गृणन्तमुप भूषथो माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

In this sacrifice, O invincible ones, O lords of splendour, do you Aśvins come near and strengthen the singer who seeks your protection and utters the praise. Hear my honeyed call.

Mantra 9

अभूदुषा रुशत्पशुराग्निरधाय्यृत्वियः । अयोजि वां वृषण्वसू रथो दस्रावमर्त्यो माध्वी मम श्रुतं हवम् ॥

Dawn has arisen, luminous with her shining herds of Light; and Agni, the power of the right season, has been kindled within. For you two, O strong and opulent Ashvins, the chariot is yoked—O wonder‑workers, immortal—come with the honeyed delight; hear my call that has been rightly uttered.
