इमां गायत्रवर्तनिं जुषेथां सुष्टुतिं मम । इन्द्राग्नी आ गतं नरा ॥
imā́ṃ gāyatrá-vartaniṃ juṣéthāṃ su-stutíṃ máma | indrā́gnī ā́ gatam narā ||
Nehmt diesen meinen wohlgefügten Lobgesang an, der im gāyatrī-Gang dahinschreitet—nehmt mein schönes Loblied. O Indra und Agni, kommt her, ihr beiden Helden!
Stotra/śastra praise within Soma liturgy; emphasizing metrical correctness as carrier of efficacy
Mantra-śakti (power of rightly formed speech), Ṛta in speech (meter as order)
Chandas embodies ṛta in sound: measure and order in vibration allow divine forces to act without distortion.
Suṣṭuti is effective when it carries satya—seen truth—rather than mere repetition.
Sound as formative force: the ‘course’ of meter reflects the cosmic pathways by which consciousness manifests.
Mantra-śakti orientation; integral-vedic psychology where speech is a limb of yoga and creation.
Vartani = inner pathway of attention; well-shaped praise = harmonized vibration; fire = ardent will powering the ascent.
Let the mind ‘move in the Gāyatrī course’: short, clear phrases; offer a well-shaped intention to the inner Indra-Agni.
viśuddha (speech/formation) harmonized with ājñā (illumination) and maṇipūra (will)
Chant on a single smooth exhale per pāda (8 syllables), pausing briefly between pādas; keep inhale silent and effortless.
Luminous precision; mantra-guided concentration.
Practice 3 rounds focusing on purity of sound; then 9–27 repetitions with attention on the ‘path’ of rhythm; end by listening inwardly for the response—quiet light (Indra) and steady warmth (Agni).
Observe Vedic accents; keep the self-referential compound gāyatravartanim clearly articulated; raise gently on indrāgnī.
Do not rush the compound: gā-ya-tra-var-ta-nim; keep long ā in gāyatra.
imāṃ: long ā and anusvāra nasalization, gāyatra: long ā; y as glide, vartanim: dental t; short i, suṣṭutim: retroflex ṣ; ṭ; short u; long i? (here -tim short i), mama: both short a
Bright, precise, slightly softer volume to emphasize refinement of speech.
