Devata: Ādityas (collective), addressed as samrāj (sovereigns)

वयं तद्वः सम्राज आ वृणीमहे पुत्रो न बहुपाय्यम् । अश्याम तदादित्या जुह्वतो हविर्येन वस्योऽनशामहै ॥

Sanskrit recitationRig Veda 8.27.22

vayáṃ tád vaḥ samrā́ja ā́ vṛṇīmahe putró ná bahu-pā́yyam | aśyā́ma tád ādityā́ júhvato havír yéna vásyo ’náśāmahai ||

Das erwählen wir von euch, o königlich waltende Mächte, wie ein Sohn die vielfach schützende Hilfe erwählt. Mögen wir es erlangen, o Ādityas, indem wir Havis darbringen; durch diese Opfergabe mögen wir Anteil gewinnen am besseren, lichtvolleren Gut.
