मा नो अग्नेऽमतये मावीरतायै रीरधः । मागोतायै सहसस्पुत्र मा निदेऽप द्वेषांस्या कृधि ॥

mā́ no agné 'matáye mā́vī́ratāyai rīradhaḥ | mā́gotāyai sahasas-putra mā́ nidè 'pá dveṣā́ṃsy ā́ kṛdhi ||

O Agni, führe uns nicht in die Stumpfheit, die die Unsterblichkeit verwirkt, noch in den Verlust der Heldenkraft; nicht in den Verlust der Kuh (der Strahlen der Erkenntnis). O Sohn der Stärke, gib uns nicht dem Tadel preis; wende die Feindschaften von uns ab.
