Agni knows even the Father’s udder by birth; he released his streams and set free the nourishing cows. Moving hidden with auspicious friends, with mighty ones of heaven, he was hidden no longer.
The inner Fire is jātavedas—by its very birth it ‘knows’ the source (the Father’s udder: the deep causal plenitude that feeds manifestation). It releases its own streams (dhārāḥ)—currents of light-force—and frees the ‘cows’ (dhenāḥ), i.e., the rays of knowledge and nourishing energies previously held back. Though it moves in the cave (guhā)—the subconscient/inner secrecy—its companions are auspicious (śiva) and heavenly-mighty (yahvīḥ): higher powers that aid the emergence. Thus what was concealed becomes manifest: illumination breaks the cover and the inner Agni is no longer hidden.
When the soul’s flame awakens, it remembers its source and releases imprisoned energies of knowledge; with higher help, what was subconscious becomes conscious and usable for truth.
finding the hidden, release of cows/rays, friends of the flame
Emphasis on discovery and liberation: freeing the ‘cows’ (light) from concealment is a central Vedic-psychological motif.
The rishi frames realization as remembrance of the source and liberation of imprisoned light—an archetype for inner awakening.
Revealer: discovers the hidden source and releases the streams of power and knowledge into manifestation.
Psychic fire that penetrates the subconscient cave and makes the concealed light available to the waking nature.
Agni invocation and praise; symbolic ‘opening’ rites in soma/agnicayana traditions (thematic)

4×11
Revelatory and decisive; last pāda resolves concealment into disclosure.
Encourages inner courage to face the hidden; culminates in a feeling of release.
Agni as discovered/manifest from concealment (aranis/hidden fire) and as revealer of the hidden plenitudes; used in invocations emphasizing revelation and release.
When affirming Agni as revealer and liberator; during offerings seeking clarity and release of obstruction.
Oblation with intent to remove coverings; recitation as ‘opening’ mantra.
Chant when working with subconscious patterns (fear, inertia): as a support for bringing hidden motives to light.
ū́dhar ‘udder’ (PIE *h₁uHdʰr̥; cf. English udder, German Euter): an inherited IE image for a source of nourishment. √vid (viveda) ‘to know/find’ (PIE *weid- ‘see/know’; cf. English wit, Latin videre). guhā ‘cave/hidden place’ used in RV for secret seat of light/cows; supports inner reading as hidden consciousness. yahvī ‘mighty, impetuous’ (from √yah/√yaj? traditional: ‘swift/mighty’), here ‘powers of heaven’.
Revelation (√vid as seeing/knowing), Hidden light in the cave (guhā motif), Ascent from concealment to manifestation
Release of dhārāḥ and dhenāḥ restores right flow of forces—ṛta replacing obstruction.
Truth is present ‘by birth’ in Agni; manifestation is disclosure of what already is.
From hidden source to manifest streams; liberation of light from concealment.
Yoga of revelation: uncovering rather than constructing realization.
Udder/milk = nourishing essence; Cave = subconscient; Streams = released energies; Heaven = higher mind influences.
Bringing the hidden (guhā) into conscious light; releasing bound energies of knowledge (dhenāḥ).
Maṇipūra (fire) working upward to Ājñā (revelation); also Mūlādhāra as ‘cave’ base to be illumined.
Slow exhale with silent ‘offering’ of a subconscious knot; optional brief kumbhaka after inhale to ‘hold the flame’ in the cave.
Courageous inward descent followed by luminous emergence.
After chanting, observe one recurring pattern you usually keep hidden. Name it without judgment; offer it into the inner fire at the navel; then wait for a ‘stream’ of insight or energy to release naturally.
Keep strong udatta on pivots (ūdhar, dhārāḥ, dhenāḥ, guhā); final cadence should feel like ‘uncovering’—clear resolution on na guhā babhūva.
Emphasize the contrast: guhā… then na guhā; let that rhetorical turn be audible.
pituś cid: ś as palatal; keep sandhi clean, ūdhar: long ū; dh aspirated, viveda: clear v, not b, asṛjat: vocalic ṛ; j crisp, sakhibhiḥ: kh aspirated; bh voiced, yahvībhir: hv cluster; long ī, babhūva: long ū
Firm, penetrating, with a clear concluding release.
