Sukta 1.186
उत न ईं मतयोऽश्वयोगाः शिशुं न गावस्तरुणं रिहन्ति । तमीं गिरो जनयो न पत्नीः सुरभिष्टमं नरां नसन्त ॥
utá na īṃ matáyo’śvayogā́ḥ śíśuṃ ná gā́vas tár uṇaṃ rihanti | tám īṃ gíro jánayo ná pátnīḥ surabhíṣṭamaṃ narā́ṃ nasanta ||
Und mögen unsere Gedanken, angespannt wie Rosse, Ihn lecken und nähren, wie Kühe ihr junges Kalb. Zu Ihm treten die Worte heran wie Gattinnen zu ihrem Herrn – zum Wohlriechendsten, Wonnevollsten unter den Männern.
